Refrain from drug abuse and set yourselves free – Queenmother advises the youth

The Sompahemaa of Suma Traditional Council in the Bono Region of the Jaman North District, Nana Sompahemaa Tante Hawa has advised the youth to refrain from drug abuse and all forms of attitudes tha raise credibility problems in the society to set themselves free.

In an exclusive telephone interview with the correspondent, Sompahemaa Tante Hawa expressed her disappointment about the growing trend in which the yout have been trying to change the Ghanaian culture.

She denounced the conduct of the male youth who are usually spotted in the manner of wearing earring, especially in their nose and asked where did the youth picked that culture from.

Sompahemaa noted that the kind of lifestyles that the youth have been adopting are against the Ghanaian culture, as it is not been practiced in both the Christian and Muslem religion.

Sompahemaa explained that the way our youth especially the males who are the future leaders have been wearing earrings and making hairstyles like women are worrying, hence her readiness to fight against the menace for possible reversal.

I was surprised to be enstooled as Sompahemaa by a whole Paramount of Suma Traditional Council from nowhere irrespective of my religious denomination as a Muslim all because of my humility, discipline, decency and favour before Nananom, but l must to be frank the kind of life our youth have been indulging in is dangerous and disgraceful to the country’s culture principle, she pointed out

Appealing to the government to come out with measures to discourage the youth against their indiscipline conduct, Sompahemaa was further hopeful that the Traditional Councils across Ghana would also implement traditional laws to reduce the menace including teenage pregnancies.

Nana Sompahemaa Tante Hawa urged parents to be the best friends of their children and do their best to provide their needs to let them feel parental care.

She also advised both the female and male youth to think of the future instead of today and take their education seriously to their own advatage.
