DCE rewards Blessed Owusu as school seeks support to improve sports facilities

St.Hubert Seminary Senior High School has presented a trophy to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Honourable Grace Agyemang Asamoah, in recognition of the outstanding performance of one of its students in the just-ended Senior High School Athletics Competition.
Blessed Owusu,a first-year student and native of Atwima Yabi, emerged the overall best athlete after winning the 100m, 200m, and 400m events. He, together with school authorities, paid a courtesy call on the DCE to officially present the trophy.
The 15-year-old athlete also placed second at the Champion of Champions competition held in Cape Coast and has been selected to represent Ghana at the upcoming World U-20 Championships in the United States of America.
Hon. Agyemang Asamoah congratulated the young athlete and advised him to remain grounded, seek God’s guidance, and uphold strong moral principles. She encouraged him to balance his sporting talent with academic excellence to enable him reach greater heights.
The DCE pledged the Assembly’s readiness to support him as he prepares for his international competition. She further presented a cash award of GHS 2,000 to the athlete in recognition of his achievements and for bringing honour to both the district and his school.
During the visit, the Headmaster, Mr. Eric Kyei, appealed to the Assembly for assistance in securing a DRIP machine to help improve the school’s track, enabling athletes to train under better conditions.
The delegation from the school was led by the Rector, Rev. Fr. Henry Mensah, together with the Headmaster, Mr. Eric Kyei, two sports officers, and the athlete.
They were received by the DCE and some management members of the Assembly.
