The Suame Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region has ended months of uncertainty after electing Nana Obour Sika I as its new Presiding Member, following two previous unsuccessful attempts to elect a substantive presiding officer.

Nana Obour Sika I,the Assembly Member for the Breman East Electoral Area and Akyeamehene of the Agric Nzema Traditional Council, secured an overwhelming endorsement from members present at the election, bringing an end to the prolonged deadlock that had delayed key deliberations and development-related decisions within the Assembly.

His election is expected to restore momentum to the Assembly’s proceedings and strengthen efforts to advance development initiatives across the municipality.

The Presiding Member plays a critical role in chairing Assembly meetings, guiding deliberations and ensuring the effective conduct of the Assembly’s business.
