Hon. Adelaide Yaa Agyeiwaa Ntim Donates GH¢60,000 to Support Adum Blue Light Fire Victims from Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo

In a compassionate gesture to support her constituents in distress, Hon. Adelaide Yaa Agyeiwaa Ntim, the Member of Parliament for Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo, has donated GH¢60,000 to assist victims of the recent Adum Blue Light fire disaster in Kumasi.

The fire, which occurred in March 2025 at the busy Adum trading enclave, caused widespread destruction, consuming several shops and destroying goods worth millions of Ghana cedis. Among the hundreds affected were traders from the Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo constituency who operate businesses in the area.

Recognizing the severe impact the tragedy has had on her constituents, Hon. Ntim presented a cash donation of GH¢60,000 to help the victims rebuild their businesses and regain financial stability.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Ntim stated that the support was her contribution toward alleviating the economic hardship her constituents are facing due to the fire. “Many of our people have lost their means of livelihood. As their representative, it is my duty to support them in any way I can. This is not just about politics, but about humanity and responsibility,” she said.

The donation was received on behalf of the affected traders by Mr. Kofi Badu, a native of Nsuta-Kwamang and a leader among the victims. He conveyed deep appreciation to the MP for her timely and generous support.

“We are extremely grateful to Hon. Adelaide Ntim for remembering us during this difficult period. The fire took everything from us — our capital, goods, and sense of security. This intervention will help many of us get back on our feet,” Mr. Badu said.

The presentation event, which took place in Kumasi, was attended by some constituency executives, affected traders, and members of the media.

Hon. Ntim urged other public-spirited individuals, organizations, and government agencies to continue extending support to the victims to ensure full recovery. She also reiterated her commitment to standing with her constituents at all times, especially during moments of adversity.

This donation adds to several other relief efforts being made by both public and private entities in support of victims of the Adum Blue Light market fire, as Kumasi works towards recovery and rebuilding.
