CCY DESCRIBES DUMSOR LEVY AS ROBBING PETER TO PAY PAUL.

The Coalition of Concerned Youth (CCY) has criticized the NDC government’s newly introduced Dumso levy, describing it as “robbing Peter to pay Paul.” Executive Director Richard Mensah stated that the levy, which lacks a timeline, unfairly burdens ordinary Ghanaians, particularly the youth.

“We question why the government is increasing water and electricity tariffs while introducing this new levy to directly affect we the youth in the country,” Mensah said. “It’s hypocritical for those who criticized the Akufo-Addo government’s Electronic Levy to now implement a similar policy.”

Mr. Mensah urged critics of the previous government to speak out against this move, calling the Dumso levy a “scam” that forces drivers to reduce transportation costs.

He also challenged President Mahama and the Energy Minister to fulfill their campaign promises to avoid any demonstrations.
