ROTARY CLUB FOUNDATION EXTENDS SUPPORT TO BOSOME FREHO DISTRICT THROUGH HON. MAXWELL BOACHIE DE-GRAFT’S LOBBYING EFFORTS
Hon. Boachie De-graft Maxwell, the Presiding Member for the Bosome Freho District Assembly and Deputy Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has successfully attracted the attention and intervention of the Rotary Club Foundation, a USA-based NGO, into the district through his strong lobbying efforts.
The Rotary Club Foundation, which has already made significant developmental contributions in parts of the Kumasi Metropolis, Adansi enclave, and other areas, has now turned its focus to Bosome Freho following multiple engagements with the Hon. Presiding Member. During these meetings, Hon. Boachie De-graft highlighted the pressing challenges confronting the district and made a strong case for urgent support.
In less than a month of partnership, the Rotary Club Foundation has drilled three boreholes for the communities of Mantukwa, Tutu, and Bayie—areas where residents previously relied on rivers and streams for drinking water. Unfortunately, the ongoing rains have delayed similar support to Kwame Sam, another community in the Nsuta zone.
The Presiding Member has reiterated his unwavering commitment to support the District Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament in the collective push for development across Bosome Freho.
Currently, discussions are underway for the extension of potable water facilities to other communities including Oputuu, Tepaso, and Ampaha, among others.
A major milestone is the agreement for the construction of the district’s first Science and Research Center, which will include an ICT laboratory and robotics unit,a significant step forward in advancing STEM education in the area. Other key projects under consideration include Kindergarten (KG) classroom blocks, toilet facilities, and healthcare infrastructure.
Hon. Boachie De-graft Maxwell extended deep appreciation to Mr. Godfred Kofi Acheampong, the Rotary Club’s Project Coordinator, for his prompt and compassionate response to the district’s calls for support. He also commended all Hon. Assembly Members for their continuous backing of his developmental initiatives and urged them to continue working together for the betterment of the district.
The commissioning of completed projects is expected to take place soon, alongside sod-cutting ceremonies for the next phase of development.
Hon. Boachie De-graft Maxwell officially welcomes the Rotary Club Foundation to the Bosome Freho District and encourages them to deepen their involvement in transforming lives in the district.
