Shock in Afaseibon as Woman Found Stuck on Avocado Tree in Bizarre Witchcraft Scare

Residents of Afaseibon in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region woke up to a strange and terrifying spectacle on Monday, September 29, 2025, after a woman suspected of witchcraft was found trapped on an avocado tree at dawn.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4:00 a.m. when community members, disturbed by what they believed to be the cry of a wild bird, rushed outside. To their shock, they found a woman mimicking the bird sounds perched high in the tree.

According to eyewitness accounts, a pack of barking dogs first drew attention to the scene. Soon, hundreds of curious residents gathered to catch a glimpse of the woman, who appeared unable to come down on her own.

Assembly Member for the Kromoase Afasiebon electoral area, Emmanuel Amisah confirmed the incident, noting that even the residents were too scared to approach her.

“It took the Ghana National Fire Service to rescue the woman using a ladder and rope. People in the community were frightened and wouldn’t go near her,” he said.

The woman, believed to be in her late 50s, was eventually brought down safely. Before she was taken away by the police, traditional authorities poured libation at the scene to “cleanse” the community of any spiritual disturbance.

The bizarre episode has since become the talk of Afaseibon, with residents divided over whether the incident was supernatural or simply mysterious.
