As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ramps up for its highly anticipated presidential primary, the Ashanti Regional Constituency Communication Officers have issued a firm but measured warning to presidential aspirant Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, calling for restraint, responsibility, and respect in all campaign activities.
Ashanti:
The Party’s Electoral Powerhouse
The statement comes amid intensified campaign activities across the Ashanti Region, widely recognized as the NPP’s strategic stronghold.
According to party officers, the region’s unity, discipline, and cohesion have historically underpinned the party’s national success, making responsible campaigning essential.

Speaking on behalf of the officers, Chief Anokye, Communication Officer for Old Tafo Constituency, said:
“Ashanti Region is not only a symbolic stronghold of the New Patriotic Party but also a decisive contributor to its national electoral fortunes. It is therefore imperative that all aspirants and their campaign teams conduct themselves responsibly and in strict adherence to the party’s core values of respect, unity, and discipline.”
Responsibility of High Profile Aspirants

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, a prominent figure in the party, has recently intensified engagements across the region. While acknowledging his influence and long-standing service, the officers emphasized that highly visible aspirants carry a greater responsibility to lead by example.
“Our internal contests must be competitive but respectful, issue-driven rather than sensational, and focused on strengthening the party rather than fragmenting it,” the statement added.
Analysts Weigh In
Political analysts interpret the intervention as a strategic move to preserve internal stability in a region crucial to the party’s electoral fortunes.
“Public cautionary statements are reminders that unity remains the ultimate objective,” one analyst noted.
Call for Unity
The Ashanti Regional NPP Constituency Communication Officers concluded by urging all aspirants, supporters, and communicators to prioritize the party’s collective interest, emphasizing that internal competition should enhance, not weaken, the NPP’s readiness for national elections.
