A Thousand Cedis Each: Takorase Market Women Hail Bonsu’s Life-Changing Support

The Assembly Member for the Takorase Electoral Area in the Amansie South District, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, has fulfilled a campaign pledge by disbursing Gh¢268,000 in business grants to 268 market women.

Each beneficiary received Gh¢1,000 free of charge to expand their businesses and improve household incomes.

Speaking at a ceremony in Takorase, Hon. Bonsu described the initiative as part of his vision to empower women and drive grassroots development.

“When I asked for your mandate, I promised to support market women to grow their businesses. Today, I am fulfilling that promise. This support is free please use it wisely to secure your future,” he stated.

He further announced that the support would be made an annual program, and urged other leaders and philanthropists to prioritize community-centered initiatives.

The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude, calling the intervention timely and unprecedented.

“This is the first time any leader has directly placed money into our hands to support our businesses. We are grateful and will use it responsibly,” one trader said.

The well-attended event drew opinion leaders, traders, and residents, who applauded Hon. Bonsu as a leader who keeps his word.
