Ashanti NPP Youth Point Fingers:Dr. Bryan Acheampong Caused Our Defeat,Not Bawumia

A storm is brewing within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a coalition of youth organizers from the Ashanti Region have boldly declared that Dr. Bryan Acheampong, not Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, was the true architect behind the party’s humiliating defeat in the 2024 general elections.

At a charged press conference in Kumasi, the visibly agitated youth organizers fiercely defended the former Vice President, insisting that Dr. Bawumia should not be made a scapegoat for the party’s electoral woes.

Dr. Bawumia is not our problem. The defeat was caused by the poor attitude and selfish conduct of some of our own leaders, declared Nana Kwadwo Pipim, Tafo Constituency Youth Organizer.

According to them, Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s alleged misconduct, including hoarding fertilizers meant for farmers and acquiring state properties for personal gain, eroded public trust and crippled the party’s image ahead of the polls.

The youth further lamented that the NPP’s defeat stemmed from internal divisions, poor leadership, and disconnection from the grassroots, warning that unless these issues are confronted, the party risks repeating history.

Throwing their full weight behind Dr. Bawumia, the youth described him as “the only beacon of hope” capable of uniting the party and restoring its lost glory ahead of the 2028 elections.

“We are confident that with Dr. Bawumia’s vision, humility, and forward-looking leadership, the NPP can rise again and reclaim power,” the youth organizers affirmed.

The declaration from the Ashanti Region, considered the party’s stronghold is seen as a major show of force that could shape the NPP’s internal power dynamics in the months ahead.

As the dust settles, one thing is clear: the youth are done keeping quiet, and they’re pointing fingers squarely at the top.
