The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency has been hit with heartbreaking news following the sudden passing of its 2nd Vice Chairman, Mr. Henry Akwasi Anning, popularly known as Capo.

Party executives and the Member of Parliament received confirmation of his death at about 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, throwing the constituency into a state of shock and grief.

According to a statement issued by the Constituency Secretary, Mr. Richard Sarpong, a delegation of constituency executives visited the family house of the late Chairman on Sunday evening to commiserate with them. A follow-up visit to the residence of his wife is scheduled for Monday.

The family has indicated that consultations are still ongoing regarding arrangements for the One-Week Observation and final funeral rites. They assured the Party that all details will be communicated once decisions are finalized. The Constituency Executive Committee says all members and stakeholders will be informed accordingly so that the late Chairman is given a befitting farewell.

In its message of condolence, the Party called on all officers, members, and sympathizers to lift the bereaved family in prayer during this difficult time.

Mr. Anning, described by many as a committed, hardworking, and loyal pillar of the constituency, is expected to be remembered for his dedication to the growth and unity of the Party.

“May the soul of our gallant Chairman rest peacefully with his Maker,” the statement concluded.
