    BAB: RESETTLEMENT COMMITTEE INAUGURATED:

    The committee in charge of resettling households affected by the activities of Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd has been outdoored.

    In a brief address, the MCE, who doubles as the chairman of the Resettlement Monitoring Committee expressed appreciation to the Mining Company for the formation of the committee. He continued that the workers and contractors should act swiftly to facilitate the implementation of the project.

    Additionally, the company was urged to increase funding for the project, regular community engagement was also stressed. The communities involved were also implored to cooperate with the company and the workers.

    It came to light that about 200,000 blocks have been molded and the building of the structures will commence after 500,000 blocks have been molded.

    From the resettlement site at Lineso, the MCE and other members of the committee proceeded to Old Town to inspect some buildings affected by the operations of the Mines and a road diversion carried out by the mining company.

    The MCE was accompanied by Nana Kwandoh III, Chief of Bibiani Old Town, Mr Zakari Mubarik, Assembly member of Old Town, and Mr Mohammed Abdallah, Assemblymember , Zongo. Others were, Mr. Kwesi Eyiah Mensah, Regional Director, EPA, Mr. Felix Amoah, Senior Officer, EPA, and Mr.Prince John Escoba-Donkor, Senior Community Relations officer, Mensin Gold, Bibiani Limited
