    Breaking News: Amansie West Assembly Members Demand Justice After Colleague’s Killing

    Tensions are boiling in the Amansie West District after the killing of Hon.Sampson Dankwa, popularly known as “Yete Sika So, Nti Yebedi Bi”, Assembly Member for Esaase Dominase.

    At a fiery press conference today, Presiding Member Hon. Antwi Bosiako AMPONSAH accused the military of “rampant brutality” against local leaders, warning that fear and panic are now gripping the district.

    The Assembly Members are demanding:
    A full and transparent investigation into the killing.
    Government action to rein in security excesses.
    Asanko Gold Mine to take care of the late Assemblyman’s family, including funding quality education for his children.

    Hon. Antwi also appealed to former President John Mahama and other authorities to remove security personnel whose actions he says are terrorizing communities.

    He cautioned that all mining disputes must be resolved through the District Assembly’s Mining Sub-Committee to avoid further bloodshed.

    Meanwhile, the arrest of Bonteso Assembly Member Hon. Patrick Asare has added fuel to the fire. The group gave authorities until Friday to release him, insisting he is innocent.

    “If nothing is done, peace will not prevail. We’ll fight for our rights,” the aggrieved members warned.

    With mounting pressure, many fear the situation could escalate if swift action is not taken.

     

    Adding their voices, other Assembly Members such as Hon. Mark Asamoah, representative for the Manso Abodom Electoral Area, together intervention to calm rising tensions in the district.

    “Receiving the petition on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Minister, the District Chief Executive for Amansie West, Hon. Moris Manu, advised the aggrieved members to remain calm and maintain peace..
