Breaking News: Mpatuam Residents Protest Over Killing of Assembly Member

    Source: Justice Baffour//www.dailywatchgh.com

Scores of aggrieved residents from mining communities in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region have stormed the streets of Mpatuam, demanding justice for their late Assembly Member, Hon. Sampson Dankwa.

The residents allege that Hon. Dankwa was brutally killed by a group of masked, armed military men suspected to have been deployed by Asanko Gold Mine.

Waving placards and chanting slogans such as “We need peace,” “Asanko Mines are wicked,” and “Manso needs peace,” the angry demonstrators vowed to cut all ties with the mining company until justice is served.

According to the residents, their patience has run out, and they will no longer tolerate what they describe as acts of violence and intimidation linked to the operations of the company.
