Eyewitnesses say the crash occurred after the tricycle’s brakes failed. In a desperate attempt to save himself, the rider leapt from the moving vehicle, losing consciousness upon hitting the ground. Moments later, the runaway Aboboyaa crashed into the ADB building.

Thankfully, no casualties have been recorded.

Authorities are being urged to investigate the incident and implement measures to regulate and ensure the safety of commercial tricycles, especially within the city’s busy central business district.
