Imposition attempt to style himself as a president: Pastor renders apologies to Supreme court over fake elections.

The Supreme court of Ghana on March 5 2024 passed a verdict against the Acting President of the Association of the 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies, pastor Maciah Akwasi Addai in Kumasi, reports King Amoah our legal correspondent from Accra.

The verdict followed an alleged linkage of the apex court in an election which the Mr Akwasi Addai organized to raise himself to the status of President, which according to church sources was contrary to the church’s constitution.

The alleged Always Addai’s fake elections took place in last year 2023, contrary to the earlier ruling of the court involving a case of leadership struggle between him (Addai been (the defendant) and one other church member Elder Enoch Ofollri Jnr and his group (plaintiffs

According to information gathered since the death of the President/ Founder of the Association of the 7 the Day Pentecostal Assemblies Elder Enock Ofori Snr in 2009 the church has been hit by leadership crisis on who is qualified to lead the church.

But through legal confrontations between the two factions, pastor Addai was appointed to act as Acting President until courts final dec isions to ensure proper and peaceful elections and selection of substantial President to run the affairs of the church.

It was further learnt that pastor Akwasi Addai had been
floored two times by the plaintiffs in the case Elder Enock Ofori Jnr and factions through earlier rulings from the same High Court and Appeal court of Ghana respectively.

According to the Solicitors of Elder Enock Ofori Jnr, Yaanom Chambers headed by lawyer Charles Agbenu in Kumasi whilst preparations were ongoing to ensure proper and peaceful elections, he heard from Akwasi Addai been the defendant that the Supreme Court had allegedly given him the mandate to conduct elections.

The learned lawyer indicated that as if the message of elections was a joke assertion, he advised pastor Addai to stop holding the elections but his advise was treated contempt insisting that the Supreme court had given him the green light to conduct elections.

Lawyer Charles Agbenu said after conducting the elections the defendant, Mr Addai reportedly appeared on air at a Kumasi based television station to declare himself as the full time president of the church based on his election which he linked the Supreme court as his source of his action.

Lawyer Agbenu says he cannot sit down for Always Addai to take the laws into his own hands hence his Court action.

Meanwhile at the Supreme court on March 5 2024 this reporter learnt that Maciah Addai rendered apologies to the Supreme court for using its name to organize false elections to favour himself..
