Security operations in the Kumawu constituency have received a major uplift following the donation of a brand-new motorbike by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, to the Sekyere Police Station. The presentation, held on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, forms part of the MP’s broader agenda to strengthen community safety and enhance the operational readiness of the Ghana Police Service.

Addressing officers and community members during the handover, Hon. Anim said the decision was driven by the persistent mobility constraints affecting the police. According to him, officers often find it difficult to conduct regular patrols or respond swiftly to distress calls due to limited transportation. This challenge, he explained, has contributed to delays in addressing security concerns, particularly in distant and rural communities within the constituency.

Hon. Anim stressed that efficient policing requires reliable mobility, and the provision of the motorbike is intended to empower the police to carry out their duties more effectively. He added that the motorbike will significantly boost routine patrols, improve officer visibility, and enhance crime prevention across the constituency.

The MP encouraged the police to prioritize responsible use and proper maintenance, noting that the long-term benefits of the motorbike depend on how well it is handled. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the police with the necessary tools and resources to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

Receiving the motorbike on behalf of the station, the Sekyere Police expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Anim for what they described as a timely and impactful contribution. They noted that the donation comes at a time when the station is facing increasing pressure due to population growth, expanding settlements, and the rising complexity of local policing demands.

The police assured the MP that the motorbike will be used strictly for its intended purpose,to expand patrol coverage, improve response times, and reinforce overall security operations within the area. They emphasized that the gesture will go a long way in strengthening their ability to protect lives and property.

With this latest support, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim continues to position himself as a hands-on leader committed to practical solutions, especially in areas of security, education, infrastructure, and community development.
