KUMAWU MP STRENGTHENS CHRAJ WITH MOTORBIKE, LAPTOP AND QUARTERLY SUPPORT PLEDGE;TARGETS JUSTICE FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES

Hon.Ernest Yaw Anim, Chairman of Parliament’s Human Rights Committee, says logistical support for CHRAJ is crucial to protecting vulnerable groups and taking justice closer to underserved communities.
The Member of Parliament for Kumawu,Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of constituents through targeted humanitarian interventions, educational assistance and institutional support during a two-day constituency tour.
One of the major highlights of the tour was his donation of a motorbike, laptop and fuel support to the Sekyere Kumawu District Office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
The intervention, according to the MP, is aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the district office and enabling its officers to extend their services to remote communities where access to justice and human rights protection remains a challenge.
As Chairman of Parliament’s Human Rights Committee,Hon. Anim emphasised that CHRAJ plays a critical role in protecting the rights of vulnerable persons, particularly women, children, the aged and other disadvantaged groups.
He further pledged to provide quarterly support to sustain the operations of the district office, stressing that institutions mandated to protect citizens must receive the necessary logistical and financial assistance to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
“Leadership is about supporting institutions that protect our people,” he stressed, highlighting the importance of making justice accessible to every constituent, irrespective of their location or social status.
Beyond the CHRAJ intervention, the MP extended his humanitarian outreach to the Kumawu District Hospital, where he donated food items and cash to lactating mothers and settled the medical bills of more than 200 patients.
In the education sector,he supported 200 tertiary students by paying their school fees, helping to ease the financial burden on students and their families.
He also donated assorted items to Dadease Agric Senior High School in the Sekyere Kumawu District.
At Banko,Hon. Anim commissioned a newly constructed public toilet facility as part of efforts to improve sanitation and environmental health.
The MP also inspected ongoing development projects, including an ultra-modern police station under construction at Asante Oyoko and visited communities facing serious road challenges.
He assured residents that he would continue to pursue their infrastructure concerns, adding that should his party return to power in 2028,he would ensure that the deplorable roads receive the necessary attention.

His humanitarian activities further included visits to sick residents in their homes, where he made cash donations towards their medical expenses.
The two-day constituency tour ended at Bodomase, where plans are underway for the construction of a six-unit classroom block for Bodomase Technical Secondary School.
The tour highlights the MP’s focus on education, healthcare, human rights, sanitation and infrastructure, with particular attention to vulnerable residents and communities requiring development support.
