Kyei Mensah Bonsu Describes 2025 Budget A Deceptive:

Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the former majority leader, has expressed strong concerns about the 2025 Budget presented by Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, calling it deceptive to all Ghanaians. He highlighted the significant increase in public debt, which rose from 8.1 billion under the Akufo Addo government to 29.2 billion under Mahama’s administration.

Regarding Ghana’s economy, Mensah Bonsu mentioned that the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has grown to 1.2 billion, with Akufo Addo’s administration achieving a 45% GDP growth rate.

However, it’s worth noting that the Finance Minister has assured Ghanaians of significant spending cuts in the 2025 budget, aiming to reduce government expenditure compared to the 2024 fiscal year.
