Leading Ghana’s Fintech Future: Mobile Money CEO Honoured as Industry’s Best
Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney LTD, Shaibu Haruna, has been honoured as the CEO of the Year,Fintech at the 4th Ghana CEO Vision and Awards, held at the prestigious Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
The award recognises Mr. Haruna’s exceptional leadership, innovation, and transformational impact in Ghana’s fintech landscape. Under his visionary guidance, MobileMoney LTD has cemented its place as a digital finance powerhouse,accelerating financial inclusion and driving customer-focused innovations that empower individuals and businesses nationwide.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Haruna expressed heartfelt appreciation:

With over 25 years of commercial experience across Africa and the Middle East, Mr. Haruna is a seasoned executive whose leadership spans industries such as FMCG, Automotive, Financial Services, E-Commerce, and Telecommunications.
A standout highlight in his career has been his transformative work at MTN Ghana, where he led the development of a high-impact distribution model,now adopted across several MTN Group markets.
In 2022, he was appointed CEO of MobileMoney LTD, a subsidiary of Scancom PLC (MTN Ghana). Since then, he has steered the company’s continued dominance in the digital finance space, pushing forward Ghana’s agenda for a cash-lite economy.
Since its inception in 2009, MobileMoney LTD has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital payments in Ghana, fostering economic empowerment, and unlocking new financial opportunities for millions.
