Traditional authorities, opinion leaders and residents of Manso Kensere in the Ashanti Region have appealed to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,through Asafohene Acheamfour Agyemang Bonsu,to intervene in concerns surrounding traditional leadership and jurisdiction in the community.
The appeal follows concerns over the activities of a self-acclaimed chief,Nana Kwaku Dua,who residents say hails from Ayerebikrom and is seeking to exercise traditional authority in Manso Kensere despite the presence of an existing chief.
The residents are seeking clarity on the traditional authority responsible for Manso Kensere and whether the community falls under the jurisdiction of Manso Nkwantamanhene, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah or Asafohene Acheamfour Agyemang Bonsu.
They stressed that their appeal is aimed at promoting peace, unity and respect for customary processes, rather than creating confrontation.
The residents also expressed concern over the involvement of persons from outside the community in traditional leadership matters, calling for all such issues to be handled in accordance with established customs and traditions.
They have therefore appealed to Otumfuo and the appropriate traditional authorities to investigate the matter, clarify the traditional arrangements governing Manso Kensere and help the parties reach an amicable resolution.

The residents further urged traditional leaders, elders, youth and all stakeholders to exercise restraint and avoid actions or statements that could undermine the peace of the community.
They reaffirmed their commitment to the traditions of the Asante Kingdom and expressed confidence that dialogue and the established customary processes can bring a peaceful and lasting resolution to the matter.
