MCE CONFIRMATION: ASANTE AKIM NORTH MP, OHENE KWAME FRIMPONG PAYS LOOSING BONUS AGAINST MCE NOMINEE

Today the MCE nominee for Asante Akyem North has been rejected for the second time, after her nomination by the President of the Republic H.E John Dramani Mahama, ahead of Hon Peter Abaje (NDC Constituency Chairman) and Hon Chief Kofi Asamoah (NDC Parliamentary Candidate)

Miss Sarah Amoakoaa attained 17 Yes votes and 14 No votes in her first Assembly Confirmation Exercise on Friday 16th May, 2025. As the Standing Order requires, she was given 10 days grace period for her 2nd Confirmation which came off today 26th May, 2025.

Today at the Assembly sitting, they strengthened the security measures by ensuring no fake news goes into the media space. The Event was honored by the Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman, Ashanti Regional Minister, Nananom of the Agogo Traditional Area and Other Institutional Heads within the municipality.

The Sitting Commenced at exactly 9am where all the 31 Assembly Members were present, two reps from the Regional EC came to support the Electoral process. After the election, Mad. Sarah got 19 Yes Vote, 11 No votes and 1 rejected ballot which resulted to rejection as the nominee couldn’t attain 2/3rd Majority as stated by the Standing Orders of the Municipal Assembly Act.

Information reaching is that the member of parliament for Asante Akyem North OK FRIMPONG is the cause of her rejection. Because his preferred candidate “Hon Peter Abaje” was not nominated and for that He can’t work with Mad Sarah Amoakoaa, so He paid section of the assembly members to vote against the MCE nominee.

In view of this the youth of Agogo and Gyidim to be specific who voted massively for OK Frimpong are angry with him because they betrayed NDC to vote for independent candidate for the first time and they thought this was going to be the good time he pays them back with his support.

In the video, the youth of Agogo Gyidim hooted and sacked the MP, OKF from Mad. Sarah’s residence after they were hinted of his influence against the Nominee.
