Kumawu, Ashanti Region, As part of efforts to improve educational outcomes in the Sekyere Kumawu District, the Member of Parliament for Kumawu Constituency, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has distributed over 1,600 mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates across 45 schools.

The beneficiary schools include both public and private institutions, with the initiative aimed at equipping final-year Junior High School students ahead of their upcoming examinations.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim emphasized that the intervention forms part of his broader commitment to promoting quality education in the constituency.

According to him, ensuring access to education remains one of his top priorities as a sitting Member of Parliament.“My vision is to make education accessible to every household, so that no child is left behind,” he stated.

He further advised the 2026 BECE candidates, as well as their teachers, to strictly avoid examination malpractice. He cautioned students against entering examination halls with unauthorized materials, popularly known as “apoor,” stressing the importance of integrity in the examination process.

The MP also disclosed that free transportation arrangements have been made for candidates to ensure punctuality at their respective examination centres throughout the examination period.

The BECE is scheduled to take place from Monday, April 4 to Friday, April 8.
In addition, Hon. Anim assured students of his continued support beyond the BECE, noting that his annual distribution of chop boxes and trunks for Senior High School students will be sustained to ease the transition to the next level of education.

The initiative has been widely welcomed by students, teachers, and parents, who believe it will significantly boost candidates’ confidence and performance in the upcoming examinations.
