MTN Ghana Honors Top MoMo Champions and Power Partners at Star-Studded 2025 Awards in Kumasi

MTN Ghana’s Northern Business District rolled out the red carpet in Kumasi for its highly anticipated 2025 Mobile Money (MoMo) Dinner and Awards Night a flagship annual event spotlighting and rewarding the nation’s most exceptional partners, agents and merchants driving the success of its mobile money ecosystem.

Held on Tuesday at the Golden Bean Hotel, the glitzy celebration drew a large turnout of leading stakeholders from the Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo and Bono East regions, all gathered to honour outstanding performance, innovation and dedication in advancing MoMo adoption across Ghana.

Award winners were celebrated with cash prizes and high-value gifts including motorbikes and other recognition, in categories that reflected excellence, commitment to service and contribution to the mobile money landscape.

Speaking to journalists at the sidelines of the event, Nii Adotey Mingle, General Manager of MTN’s Northern Business District, emphasised that the awards not only reward top achievers but also underscore MTN’s strong collaboration with government and industry partners to accelerate financial inclusion and innovation.

Mingle expressed optimism about the rapidly evolving digital finance sector, pointing to burgeoning areas like digital lending, virtual assets and open banking as key drivers of growth in Ghana’s financial ecosystem.

On the security front, MTN underscored its ongoing efforts with state agencies to clamp down on mobile money-related fraud, reminding customers to safeguard their PINs and remain vigilant against unsolicited contact claiming to be from MTN.

Also announced at the event was a nationwide re-registration exercise for all MoMo agents, aimed at strengthening system integrity by ensuring agents operate under verified identities,a move MTN says will enhance trust and safety across its network.

The evening’s festivities reaffirmed MTN Ghana’s commitment to celebrating excellence, promoting innovation, and deepening partnerships that continue to shape Ghana’s mobile money journey.
