Hon. Irene Naa Torshie Addo has strongly refuted accusations leveled against her by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Divine Agorhom, dismissing them as “false, baseless, and entirely fabricated.”

Addressing journalists at a packed press conference in Kumasi, the former Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund stated emphatically that she never made any remarks about the party’s electoral performance in the Greater Accra Region as alleged by the Chairman.

“I have never uttered anything remotely close to what was attributed to me,” she stated, expressing disappointment that a senior regional officer issued an official statement without even verifying the authenticity of the claims.

Hon. Naa Torshie revealed that several fake social media posts, bearing her name, photograph, and even the GHOne TV logo have been circulating in recent weeks. According to her, these posts were completely doctored, and GHOne’s management has confirmed to her team that they did not originate from the station.

Despite this confirmation, she lamented, the Regional Chairman still relied on those fabricated posts to attack her publicly.

“The least expected from a regional officer of our party is due diligence,” she remarked.
She described his response to unverified online content as “unfortunate, needless, and unbecoming of a leader.”

Calling for restraint and professionalism, Hon. Naa Torshie warned that the current era of digital misinformation demands greater caution from party leaders, especially when dealing with sensitive internal issues.

She urged party members across the country to disregard the circulating falsehoods, stressing that the claims do not reflect her beliefs, words, or conduct. She concluded by reaffirming her unwavering loyalty and commitment to the unity, strength, and forward march of the New Patriotic Party.
