NAPO REAFFIRMS THE NECESSITY OF CHIRANO-BEKWAI DISTRICT:
The running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the crucial December elections, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has underscored the essence of the creation of Chirano- Bekwai District.
This was espoused in his campaign tour of the Western North Region, which began on Sunday, 27th October 2024 at Chirano. At a rally with Traditional Rulers, Party folks, and political office holders, the former Minister of Education and immediate past Minister of Energy added his voice to the call for the creation of a new district from the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality shortly. Dr. Bawumia’s running mate said the creation of new districts will bring development to the doorstep of many and deepen Ghana’s democratic processes.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh craved the indulgence of the electorates to renew the mandate of the NPP government citing numerous developmental projects in the Municipality. A STEM School, tarred roads, and the College of Nursing, among others, were mentioned. The former Education Minister never hesitated to tout his enormous contributions towards the implementation of the Free SHS policy. He urged parents to take advantage of the policy and enroll their wards. As a medical Doctor, he lauded the efforts of Dr. Bawumia in the Zipline Drone project which has enhanced health delivery. He implored the electorates to replicate the good works of the NPP government with their thumbs in December.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh added his voice to the call for the Speaker of Parliament to recall the house to undertake Parliamentary business since several bills are pending. The NPP stalwart outlined the Bauxite Mining Bill and Salt Mining Bill. According to him, this lackadaisical attitude is inimical to the development of the country.
Hon Joojo Rocky Obeng, Regional Minister, welcomed the running mate and expressed appreciation to the presidency for the creation of the Western North Region. He promised the region’s readiness to reward the government for reducing the stress of accessing the regional capital. He urged the electorates to come out in their numbers to vote massively for NPP in December. The Regional Minister also assured the Constituents of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai of the full completion of all roads under construction.
Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng, MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, could not hide his joy at the visit of the running mate of the elephant fraternity. He urged the electorates to consider his leadership with Dr Mohamudu Bawumia in December. He explained that the global economic downturn, which has impacted negatively on Ghana is not deliberate but the effect of a catastrophic event that nearly decimated the entire universe. He assured them of an economic boom in 2025.
Nana Somiah Gyamprah, Akyempimhene of Charano Traditional Area also welcomed Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and his entourage. He praised the Former education minister for the implementation of the Free SHS programme. He promised an emphatic victory for NPP in the town and requested an upgrade of the Chirano health post to a polyclinic, an upgrade of the community day school into a boarding facility, a police station, and an ambulance station.
High-profile dignitaries accompanying Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh were Hon Benito Owusu Bio, MP Atwima Nwabiagya North, Prof. Quarm, Former MP Manso Adubia, and Dr.Kwaku Afriyie, MP for Sefwi Wiawso.
Others were Hon Benjamin Armah, Regional Chairman, Western North, Regional Executives, and Constituency Executives.
