Political Interference Threatens Educational Progress-Nana Amponsah Kwaa IV Warns

    By:Justice Baffour Awuah- managing editor//www.dailywatchgh.com

Atwima Kwanwoma, Ghana,The Chief of Atwima Kwanwoma, Nana Amponsah Kwaa IV, has urged politicians to refrain from interfering in Ghana’s education sector, warning that such interference threatens the nation’s progress in education.

He made the appeal while speaking at Afia Kobi Girls Senior High School during the official send-off ceremony for the outgoing Atwima Kwanwoma Municipal Director of Education, Madam Doris Ofori.

According to Nana Amponsah Kwaa IV, continuous political pressure on education directors and administrators undermines their independence and hampers efforts to improve teaching and learning.

“If we continue to mix politics with education, Ghana will not see any meaningful improvement. We must allow education officers to operate freely and professionally,” he said.

The chief called on the government, political actors, and all stakeholders to respect the neutrality of the education sector, stressing that education remains the most reliable pathway to national development.

He commended Madam Doris Ofori for her dedication and significant contributions to improving education in the municipality, noting that her leadership and impact will be remembered for years to come.

“Madam Ofori has served with passion and integrity. Her legacy will inspire future education leaders in Atwima Kwanwoma,” he added.

Nana Amponsah Kwaa IV concluded by urging the public and political authorities to support education initiatives without imposing partisan pressures, emphasizing that the country’s future depends on strong and independent educational leadership.
