“Prioritise Grassroots Welfare”-Solomon Jabari Urges NDC Leaders
Atwima Kwanwoma NDC constituency chair aspirant launches ‘Fund Me Go’ empowerment programme for party members

An aspiring Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency,Mr.Solomon Jabari,has called on political leaders to prioritise the welfare and economic empowerment of grassroots party members whose commitment and efforts contribute to the success of the party.
According to him,party members at the grassroots level should not only be mobilised during elections but must also be supported with meaningful opportunities that can improve their livelihoods.
Mr.Jabari made the call at Twedie in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency during the official launch of the“Fund Me Go” Business Support and Empowerment Programme,an initiative introduced in collaboration with corporate bodies to support selected party members across various branches within the constituency.
The initiative is designed to provide practical economic support to beneficiaries,particularly women,men and young people,through various forms of business and livelihood assistance.
Under the programme,women interested in expanding their businesses are expected to benefit from flexible,low-interest loan facilities,while men and young people will have access to work-and-pay packages for tricycles and Aboboyaa to enable them to establish or expand their income-generating activities.
Tailors are also expected to benefit from support with sewing machines,providing them with the necessary equipment to strengthen their businesses and improve their economic independence.
Speaking to DailyWatchGH.com news editor, Justice Baffour after the launch,Mr. Solomon Jabari said the initiative was conceived in response to concerns raised by some grassroots members about limited economic opportunities and support despite their continued commitment to the NDC.
He said the programme was intended to provide a practical intervention that would help party members become economically self-reliant rather than depend solely on political positions or appointments.
“Our grassroots members work tirelessly for the party,especially during elections.
We must therefore think about their welfare and create opportunities that can help them improve their livelihoods,” Mr. Jabari stated.
He appealed to the leadership of the party to consider sustainable measures that would support grassroots members and recognise their contribution to the party’s electoral successes.
Mr. Jabari further encouraged beneficiaries of the programme to approach the opportunity with seriousness,discipline and commitment,stressing that the sustainability of the initiative would depend partly on beneficiaries making productive use of the support.
Deputy Women’s Organiser Commends Initiative
The Deputy Women’s Organiser of the NDC, Barikisu Musah,commended Mr.Solomon Jabari and his team for introducing the initiative,describing the programme as an opportunity that could provide practical support to party members.
She expressed the hope that beneficiaries would use the assistance responsibly to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
Ms.Musah urged the beneficiaries to demonstrate commitment and accountability by investing the support into productive ventures.
She also encouraged them to use the opportunity as a stepping stone towards greater economic independence.
Branch Executives Express Appreciation
Some branch executives who attended the programme expressed appreciation to Mr.Solomon Jabari and the collaborators for the initiative.
They said the intervention had the potential to address some of the economic challenges confronting party members and expressed their readiness to make good use of the opportunities available to them.
The executives further called for the programme to be sustained and expanded to cover more deserving members across the various branches of the constituency.
The launch of the “Fund Me Go” Business Support and Empowerment Programme therefore marks an effort by Mr.Jabari and his collaborators to link grassroots political participation with economic empowerment,with beneficiaries expected to use the support to build sustainable livelihoods.
