Protecting Peace In The Country Is A Core Responsibility, let’s fight for it-Akwasisohene

As we are gradually approaching this years general elections, Nana Kwakye Gyima Yeboah, chief of Manso Akwasiso in the Amansie South District of Ashanti Region, has made a passionate appeal to all Ghanaians, especially the youth, to ensure peaceful general elections scheduled on Saturday, December 7th.

Nana Kwakye Gyima made this humble appeal at a graduation ceremony of twelve students who have completed a three year apprenticeship program from Nana Gyima Yeboah training center in Amansie South on Friday, December 1st, 2024.

According to him, the need for respect and civility throughout the electoral process cannot be overemphasised.

“We’re not going to fight; we’re not going to insult one another and only fools will die out of electora violence. We’re going to exercise our kokromoti power (right to vote),” he said.

He, therefore, urged all eligible voters to turn out in their numbers and vote responsibly.

Besides, Nana Gyima II, reminded all citizens in the country that the Electoral Commission officers, media practitioners and other stakeholders are all Ghanaians or fellow citizens. They should, therefore, be treated with the utmost respect.

The chief of Akwasiso said, “Let’s give the needed respect to the electoral regulations and the officers at the various polling stations. They’re our relatives, friends, husbands and wives.”

This year’s election is anticipated to be highly competitive, with the ruling NPP facing a strong challenge from the Ghana’s strongest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Nana Kwakye message underscores the importance of unity, respect and peaceful coexistence as Ghanaians head to the polls.

On his part the Chairman of Ghana National Association of Small scale miners (GNASSM),Amansie South chapter,Mr Kwaku Abonee widely known as Great Osama has reminded two major Political parties, the ruling New Patriotic Party-NPP and the opposition National democratic Congress NDC to fulfill their promised on how to eradicate illegal small scale mining operators most especially those destroying our water bodies after upcoming December 7th general elections.

According to Chairman Osama, one of his major will is to get support from above to lead the massive fight or frashout all illegal miners in the Amansie South District area.
