Very Shocking:Over 1,300ECH Containers Missing At Team Port:

A shocking report has revealed that over 1,300 containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have gone missing at the Tema Port. The discrepancy came to light when an independent audit found only 1,134 containers, despite ECG’s claim of having 2,491 uncleared containers filled with essential equipment like cables.

Prof. Innocent Senyo Acquah, Chairman of the investigative committee, highlighted the alarming gap of 1,357 missing containers. Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has expressed concern and assured a thorough investigation.

In response to the situation, Jinapor has pledged to Separate ECG’s procurement unit within a week to prevent future irregularities.

Implement urgent reforms to address the discrepancies and ensure accountability

The incident raises serious concerns about the management and oversight of ECG’s operations. As the investigation unfolds, it’s essential to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and that measures are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
