We hold you high in esteem- Ashanti Chiefs to Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been praised by the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs for being the first dignitary who is not an Asanteman to attend the house.

As part of their three-day campaign visit in the area, Dr. Bawumia and his entourage were welcomed to the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs in Kumasi by Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the occupant of the Silver Stool of Asanteman. On behalf of the Asante Hene Otumfour Osei Tutu, the Asante, the team was blessed.

“We are happy to have you here because you are the first non-Asanteman dignitary to visit the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs and have our Queen mothers seated before 9 AM. It shows how we hold you in high esteem you,” Daasebre Osei Bonsu II continued.

As part of his campaign to become the nation’s leader, the NPP flagbearer has started a tour called “Bold Solutions for the Future,” and he has already visited 15 regions.

Dr. Bawumia has begun a three-day campaign tour in the Ashanti area as of today, June 10, 2024.

He is scheduled to meet at the Kumasi Central Mosque in the afternoon on his first day with Muslim leaders and clergy. After that, Dr. Bawumia will speak with vendors at the Kumasi Central Market.

At the Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Bar Association, Ghana Journalists Association, University Teachers Association of Ghana, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers and Coalition of Concerned Teachers, among other professional organisations, the NPP flagbearer will wrap up his first day of campaign activities at the True Vine Hotel.

The remaining organizations are, among others, the Ghana Institute of Architects, Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ghana Institute of Surveyors, Nurses and Midwifery Association, Ghana Association of Society of Medical Physics, and Ghana Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana.
