Kwaso Chief Assures Affected Farmers of Compensation as Kumasi-Accra Expressway Project Advances
Nana Fosu Adutwum says farmers affected by the project are expected to receive compensation next week as government begins payments

The Chief of Kwaso,Nana Fosu Adutwum,has assured farmers whose lands and properties are affected by the construction of the Kumasi-Accra Expressway project that government is expected to pay their compensation next week.
According to the traditional leader,the assurance forms part of measures being undertaken to facilitate the smooth implementation of the major road project and address concerns of affected landowners and farmers.
Nana Fosu Adutwum said government has already commenced the payment of compensation to some affected farmers in the Accra area,adding that those affected around Kwaso and its surrounding communities are expected to be considered next.
He urged affected farmers to remain calm and have confidence in the government’s commitment to honouring its obligation to them.
The Kwaso Chief said the payment of compensation would help reduce anxiety among affected farmers and pave the way for the smooth execution of the project.
He made this known during a short meeting with affected farmers immediately after the handing over of right of way clearance by the President John Dramani Mahama at Kwaso,today.
He further called on all stakeholders,particularly affected landowners and farmers, to cooperate with the authorities and project managers to ensure that the Kumasi-Accra Expressway is successfully implemented.
The project is expected to improve road connectivity,ease transportation challenges and enhance economic activities along the corridor.
Nana Fosu Adutwum’s assurance comes at a time when preparations are advancing for the project,with the government engaging affected communities and stakeholders as part of the process.
