    PURC REMINDS ECG TO RECONNECT POWER SUPPLY AT ADANSE PRASO COMMUNITY.

    PURC REMINDS ECG TO RECONNECT POWER SUPPLY AT ADANSE PRASO COMMUNITY.

    Adanse Praso a farming community in Ashanti Region has been in darkness for the past five (5) days as a result of misunderstanding between the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Community.

    According to the company, ECG revenue team visited the community to collect bills from their customers as part of their routine exercise. Suddenly, they were approached by a group from the community preventing them from performing their duties which against the Law.

    The team informed the district office of the company and made an official report to the Police about what happened at community, and disconnected the who community.

    Upon receipt of the complaint, PURC, Ashanti Regional team through consultation of the Principal Manager, Consumer Service and Monitoring of the PURC, arrangement was made to meet the whole community, ECG and District Chief Executive, Adanse South District to resolve the matter.

    The team took it as an opportunity to educate the community on right and responsibillity of a consumer and grounds for termination of service or power

    Again, PURC team advised ECG to respond to complaints from the community on time to avoid hullabaloo.
