ASAWINSO- MEREWA- NKRONUA ROAD AWARDED FOR CONSTRUCTION – HON ALFRED OBENG-BOATENG ASSURES COMMUTERS

Commuters and residents of Asawinso, Merewa, and Nkronua have been assured by Hon. Alfred Obeng-Boateng, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai in the Western North Region, that a contractor has been selected to commence construction on the road.

This was revealed in a message at the launch of the 2024 campaign at Awaso. The MP recounted the ordeal commuters go through in accessing the road. Due to its bad nature, Okada Boys charge exorbitant prices to assist road users with transportation. Hon Obeng-Boateng expressed optimism that the road will become motorable with the support of the regional Minister.

Concerning the youth, the MP hinted that phase two of ‘Project 100’ will be rolled out soon. Project 100 is an apprenticeship training programme for the youth in heavy-duty equipment like excavators, graders, bulldozers, pay loaders, ADT, and others. The move will provide the youth with employable skills thereby reducing youth unemployment.

At the rally, the MP outlined the various projects dotted across the length and breadth of the Constituency, including the UMaT Satellite Campus, STEM School, College of Health, telecommunications network, Basic School infrastructure, water, and sanitation.

Others are astroturfs at Bekwai and Bibiani, CHPS Compound, and Bituminous surfacing of roads.

The Regional Minister, Hon Joojo Rocky Obeng commended the MP for his outstanding leadership and performance. The NPP government was also not left out, especially for the regional creation that has brought development closer to the people. He, therefore, pleaded with the youth to cast their ballots for Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for they are on the number one spot on the ballot paper.

Hon Benjamin Armah, Regional Chairman for the NPP, stressed that the mandatory obligation of political leaders is to adopt pragmatic measures to solve problems confronting the country. According to the chairman, the NPP government is on course to surmount a plethora of challenges the nation is battling with. He emphasized that these included drones, ambulances, Agenda 111 hospitals, digitalization, and others. He, therefore, urged the entire Western North Region to reject the NDC by voting massively for all NPP Parliamentary candidates and the flagbearer.

Mr Kingsley Ntiamoah Ofosu, CEO of Ghana Museums and Monuments highlighted Dr Bawumia’s policy on responsible mining operations for residents of mining communities and assured the youth of more jobs. He further assured the youth of good times ahead. The youths were charged to embark on a serious door-to-door campaign for victory in 2024.

Mr Williams Benjamin Assuah, former Regional Chairman, Western North entreated the various leaders to unite for development thrives in unity. He cautioned about skirt and blouse syndrome. Mr Assuah condemned the act and urged the youth to vote massively for both parliamentary and presidential candidates of the NPP. The former regional chairman pleaded with cocoa farmers to consider the astronomical increase in the producer price of cocoa and reward the government with their thumbs.

High-profile dignitaries at the function were Mr. Peter Oteng-Darko, a Member of, the National Research Team, Mr. Eric Theophilus Tandoh, 1st Vice Chairman, Western North, Mr. Amokye, Financial Secretary, Gabriel Doh, Regional Youth Organizer, Kwabena Amankwah Asiedu, Deputy Youth Organizer, Mr. Ofosuhene, Regional Patron and Ruth Akosua Mintah, Queen Mother, Kessekrom.
