    Parent’s Association Donates Items Worth GHC 60,000 To OKESS SHS

    Parents’ Association Donates Learning Items,Others Worth GHC 60,000 To OKESS SHS.

    As part of effort to promote education in the the country,the Parents’ Association the then Parents teacher Association of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School widely known OKESS in Kumasi has donated desks,other items wealth GHC 60.0000 new Ghana cedis to the school.

    The items include 200 mono desks, 2 sets of mowing machines, and six wheelbarrows to support both the academic and domestic work of the school.

    Making the presentation to the institution on Friday, 15th November 2024, Chairman for the association, Michael Asante, noted that it was necessary for the group to intervene and address the shortage of desks to create a conducive environment for the students to excel in their academic work. According to him, the association would continue liaise with the school management and offer its support at all times. He has, therefore, appealed to all parents to prioritise their wards’ education by supporting in all of the association’s projects.

    Expressing his gratitude to the association, the Headmaster, Michael Mensah, said the items have brought great relief to the school because students would no longer have to perch on seats in class; while the mowers would also facilitate the work of school labourers. Acccording to him, government recently presented 250; however, the school still needs additional desks in order to meet its growing population. He has therefore assured the association that the school would handle the desks with care and provide proper maintenance for the mowers.


    The Senior Prefects of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School were also full of praise for the association for kind gesture. They recounted that the desk deficit was so alarming that students had to go to class at odd times in order to find seats. They have therefore pledged to take good care of the desk at all times.
