Assembly Members Punches NDC Chairman For Demonstrating Gross Disrespect-AKDA:
Following the recent attack and ransack at Atwima Kwanwoma district Assembly on Tuesday ,14th January 2025,led by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency Chairman,Mr Simon Abugre Aloonga and his thugs,the management and the General Assembly of the Atwima Kwanwoma district Assembly(AKDA) have described allegation circulating on the Social media reputed to denounce the credibility of Mrs Eunice Korankye,the district coordinating director as false and fabricated.
The rumored allegation detailed that,the Director has stolen some items meant for the assembly and kept in her rented residence.
Addressing the media practitioners during a press conference today, Thursday,16th January at the assembly’s hall, the Presiding member, Honourable Anthony Kwame Nsiah said,the fact of the purported case is ,the assembly has inadequate warehouse within it’s premises that can accommodate all the items and for that reason whenever there is item to be distributed to the communities through the Assembly members they are kept in other places for safety of which the entire assembly have unanimously agreed.
Speaking on their behalf, Honourable Anthony Kwame Nsiah who is also the Assembly member for Nweneso number three(3) electoral area stated categorically clear in his address that,the entire house that’s Assembly members are already agreed to keep some assembly own items or goods at the official residence of the director for safety since the place was rented by the Assembly for it purpose and has extra rooms that could be converted into store room.
According to him,they are taken out as and when the need arises for distribution which both staff, the procurement, stores officers,we the Assembly members,and management are respectively aware and have every detail of the said goods.
And it is non logical,playfully troublesome or fond of causing annoyance in a light-hearted way to alleging that the Director has store the items for her personal gains.
Hon Kwame Nsiah demanded immediate apology from the National Democratic Congress NDC constituency Chairman,Mr Simong Aloonga,the youth organizer and the entire NDC as a party or else…..we will advise ourselves in many ways if they refused to comply.
He described the incident as baseless and thefore urged the general public to disregard same with utmost contempt it deserves, so all should not take it serious and refrain from jumping to conclusions but rather.
his aligns was to disgrace the respected officer.
The sad aspect is that,the chairman together with armed thugs had visited the officer on Monday,13th January 2025 and had been briefed on the day to day administration of the assembly and we’re given inventory of all items and where they have been kept,only to storm the premises of the officer with thugs the following Tuesday, January 24,2025 to ransack the item while the officer was at work.
Adding their bitterness,one of the long serving member of the house,the Assembly member for Twedie electoral area,hon Augustine Osei said despite unfortunate incident like this,we still remain committed to serve the people in our various electoral areas and the district at large.
