Minority opposes approval of Armah-Kofi Buah over derogatory comments to Akufo-Addo

The Minority in Parliament has strongly opposed the approval of Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as the Minister-Designate for Lands and Natural Resources, citing his refusal to retract or apologise for comments he made regarding former President Akufo-Addo’s final State of the Nation Address on January 3, 2025.

During his vetting, Armah-Kofi Buah acknowledged that his remarks—widely perceived as harsh or inappropriate—were not intended to offend the former President but rather reflected the prevailing circumstances at the time.
However, he declined to issue a retraction or apology.

‘I don’t want to be seen as having disobeyed party orders. I want us to place that of Armah Kofi Buah on ice.’
