Concern farmers Association of Ghana Reacts to Minority Leader Recent Proposal On A New Parliamentary Chamber:

We are compelled to respond to the recent proposal by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, which was met with opposition from Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga. The suggestion to establish a dedicated hospital for Members of Parliament and construct a new parliamentary chamber has sparked intense debate

While we acknowledge the need for improved working conditions and healthcare facilities for MPs, we cannot help but feel that this proposal is misplaced and prioritizes the interests of lawmakers over those of the ordinary Ghanaian.

It is unconscionable that our leaders would consider building a hospital exclusively for MPs when cocoa farmers, who are the backbone of our economy, lack access to basic healthcare facilities. These farmers, who toil tirelessly to feed our nation, often queue to vote for our leaders, yet they are denied the most fundamental necessities, including anti-venom and rabies vaccines.

Meanwhile, pregnant women in our communities are forced to sleep on floors during labor, highlighting the stark contrast between the lives of our leaders and those they represent.

We urge our leaders to reexamine their priorities and consider the plight of the average Ghanaian. It is time for our lawmakers to demonstrate a genuine commitment to serving the people who elected them.

The Concerned Farmers Association of Ghana stands in solidarity with all Ghanaians who demand better from their leaders. We will continue to advocate for the rights and interests of our members and all those who feel marginalized by the selfish interests of our leaders.

    Signed,

Farmer General Nana Oboadie Boateng Bonsu ||
