Dr Bawumia speaks Over Adum fire disaster, appeals victims to wait for final report:

Former Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged all stakeholders to be patient and wait for the final investigative report on the cause of the fire at the Adum Market in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

He made the point that the report will determine the way forward for the market.

Dr Bawumia said this after visiting the Blue Light Market scene at Adum in Kumasi to commiserate with traders on Tuesday, 25th March 2025 at about 10am.

During interaction with the traders, he said, “I want to appeal to the [Mahama] government to complete the 80% done Kejetia Market Phase 2, that we started but couldn’t complete.”

He also commended the Ghana National Fire Service for their bravery in dousing the inferno and urged all to be patient and wait for the final investigative report on the course of the fire.
