Eric Assibey confirmed as MCE for Kwadaso with 100% Votes:

President John Dramani Mahama’s nominee for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, Eric Assibe, has been overwhelmingly endorsed by Assembly Members.

During the confirmation process, Mr. Assibe secured 22 ‘Yes’ votes and non of them voted ‘No’ out of the 22 ballots cast by elected Assembly Members and government appointees.

The vote took place at an emergency meeting convened to address key administrative issues, including the long-standing vacancy in the position of Presiding Member, which had remained unfilled for over a year and saw a contentious election earlier in the day.

Mr. Assibey nomination sparked mixed reactions within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kwadaso Constituency

While some party members opposed his appointment, others expressed strong support, citing his competence and leadership qualities.

He currently serves as the NDC’s 2024 parliamentary candidate for Kwadaso constituency in Ashanti region.

His confirmation presents him with the enormous responsibility of addressing key challenges in the municipality, including sanitation, infrastructure deficits, and widespread indiscipline.

Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, hon Dr Kingsley Nyarko , urged the newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive to collaborate effectively with Assembly Members to accelerate development in the area.

“Let’s focus on getting our communities developed more than anything else,” he urged.

He also assured the MCE and the Assembly of his full support to ensure progress.

In response, Eric Assibe expressed his gratitude to President Mahama for the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to work hand-in-hand with all stakeholders to drive the development agenda of the Kwadaso Municipality.

“It is my pledge and honour that I will act and work in the role of an MCE.”
