Nextcare Medical Centre Brings Hope, Dignity, and Change to Santasi-Anyinam

In a significant step toward transforming healthcare delivery in Ghana, Dr. Nana Adomah Owusu-Nyamekye, founder of the newly commissioned Nextcare Medical Centre at Santasi-Anyinam in the Kumasi Metropolis, has made a passionate call for more patient-centered care across the country.

Speaking at the official opening of the 35 beads health facility, Dr. Adomah emphasized the need for healthcare providers to go beyond clinical treatment and offer emotional support and empathy to patients.

When healthcare is delivered with compassion, dignity, and attentiveness to patients’ emotional needs, it fosters trust, respect, and ultimately improves outcomes,” she stated.

According to her, a more empathetic approach would help eliminate the disrespectful attitudes that some patients experience from certain healthcare professionals,an issue that remains a concern within Ghana’s health sector. She believes that tailoring care to meet the unique needs and preferences of individuals is a key component of quality healthcare.

Beyond healthcare, Dr. Adomah also urged authorities to address the challenges investors face when acquiring land for business purposes, citing bureaucratic and systemic barriers that often hinder private sector development.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Nana Amponsah Kwaah, Chief of Atwima Kwanwoma, who represented Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. He commended Dr. Adomah and her team for their unwavering commitment to quality healthcare and for bringing vital services closer to the community.

With its doors now open, Nextcare Medical Centre stands as a beacon of hope for Santasi-Anyinam — offering not only modern medical care but a healthcare experience rooted in compassion, respect, and human dignity.

In an era where healthcare systems often struggle under pressure, Dr. Adomah’s message is a timely and powerful reminder: healing begins with humanity. By seeing patients as people first, healthcare professionals can truly transform the care experience.
