Tears for a Fallen Comrade: Asiedu Nketia Weeps Uncontrollably Over Death of Close Ally Dr. Samuel Sarpong
The news of Dr. Samuel Sarpong’s tragic death in the recent helicopter crash has sent deep shockwaves through the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Among those hardest hit was NDC Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, whose bond with Dr. Sarpong went beyond politics and into the realm of true friendship.
When Nketia visited the grieving family, the weight of the loss became unbearable. Sitting quietly in the living room, surrounded by heartbroken relatives, the usually composed and resolute chairman could no longer hold back his emotions. His voice cracked, and then—overcome with grief—he wept openly. The stillness in the room was broken only by his sobs.
Through his tears, Nketia spoke of Dr. Sarpong’s unwavering dedication to the party and his tireless service to Ghana. Other party executives present were also moved to tears, joining in a collective moment of grief for a man who had touched countless lives with his humility, dedication, and kindness. Despite the deep sorrow, Nketia urged the family and all present to find strength in faith, trusting that divine will, though often mysterious, is never without purpose.
As he left the family home, Nketia knew that while the pain of losing Dr. Sarpong would never fully fade, his friend’s legacy would continue to guide and inspire the NDC for generations to come.
