Amansie South District Assembly Commissions New Healthcare Facilities in Taabosere

In a significant stride toward enhancing healthcare delivery in the Amansie South District, the District Assembly today commissioned two essential projects at Taabosere. The newly inaugurated facilities—a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound and a three-bedroom Nurses Quarters—are expected to serve approximately 1,000 people within Taabosere and surrounding communities.

The CHPS compound, which was financed by Brightway Mining Enterprise, marks a milestone in the community’s healthcare infrastructure. The compound will serve as the primary point of care for residents, providing basic health services, maternal care, and other critical health needs closer to home.

In his address at the commissioning ceremony, Honourable lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Amansie South, expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Bright Kwabena Obeng, the CEO of Brightway Mining Enterprise. He commended Mr. Obeng for his remarkable contribution to the community, noting that the facility will significantly reduce the challenges residents face in accessing healthcare.

“This facility will not only ease the burden of traveling long distances for healthcare but will also contribute to improving the overall health outcomes in Taabosere and its environs,” said Honourable Gyamfi. He further urged the community to adopt a strong maintenance culture to ensure that the facility remains operational and serves future generations.

The three-bedroom Nurses Quarters, funded through revenues from Stool Lands, will provide much-needed accommodation for healthcare workers assigned to the CHPS compound. This initiative is expected to attract and retain healthcare professionals in the area, further bolstering the delivery of essential health services.

Mr. Franklin Oppong Obiri, the administrator of Stool Lands, lauded the Amansie South District Assembly for effectively utilizing its share of stool land revenues to benefit the community. He emphasized the importance of channeling such funds into projects that directly impact the well-being of residents.

To ensure the smooth operation of the new healthcare facility, the District Health Directorate has been provided with a ceded capital to procure essential drugs and medical supplies. This initial investment will enable the CHPS compound to start delivering services immediately, offering a lifeline to residents who previously had limited access to healthcare.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by local leaders, representatives from the health sector, and members of the Taabosere community, who expressed their appreciation for the new facilities. As the ceremony concluded, there was a shared sense of optimism that these developments would mark the beginning of improved healthcare and quality of life in the area.

The new CHPS compound and Nurses Quarters are expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the healthcare landscape in Taabosere, ensuring that the community’s health needs are met promptly and efficiently.
