    Aggrieved farmers expresses disappointment in NPP Government

    As we all aware farming contribute 75% of the country’s economy, chief and the score of Aggrieved plantain farmers at the farming Communities in the Asante Akyem North municipal of Ashanti region are much worried  for destroying plantain farms.

    Some affected communities were Abrewapon, Ananekrom,Onyimso,Adinkrakrom,Mmirekyirekrom among others.

    Speaking in an interview on their behalf ,Chief of Abrewapon,Barima Opoku Nyantakyi Okogyeade3 bitterly complained about the situation which is negatively affecting their daily living.

    Explaining the situation to this medium,the operation started five days ago without the notification and caused huge merse in the area.

    Barima Nyantakyi,again expressed worry about the collapse of Plantain Processing factory in the area calling on the government New Patriotic Party-NPP and othe stakeholders to give ears to their cry.He humbly called intervention of the ruling government (NPP) to halt the operation since using planting for Foods and Job as their campaign message ahead this year’s general polls slated 7th December.

    Nana Asedu Kukurubour, Akuafohene of Abrewapon near Asante Akyem Agogo on his part said,the operators will see them well should the forestry commission continue destroying their farms which is the only source of our income.

    Adding his voice,Hon Peter Abaje,Assembly Member for Ananekrom electoral area who doubles up as Asante Akyem North Constituency chairman of the Ghana’s strongest opposition NDC confidently said ,the operation is political motivation by the governing NPP on the fact that,the area is the strong hold of NDC.
