The Bekwai Lorry Station was transformed over the weekend as dozens of dedicated residents teamed up with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Salifu Issaka, for a vigorous cleanup exercise,an effort that strongly aligns with President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government’s nationwide push for improved sanitation and community development.

The activity mobilised an enthusiastic volunteer team focused on clearing waste, improving hygiene, and enhancing the appearance of one of the municipality’s busiest transport hubs.

Participants described the cleanup as a powerful demonstration of what communities can achieve when united behind a shared commitment to environmental cleanliness and civic duty.

Some participants emphasised that the initiative reflects a community determined to maintain a clean, safe, and beautiful environment. He praised all volunteers for their discipline, dedication, and patriotic spirit.

The Bekwai community hopes this renewed momentum will inspire similar sanitation drives across the region as Ghana intensifies efforts toward cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable communities.
