    Afia Kobi Ampem SHS Shines at 50: Trabuom’s Premier Girls’ School Celebrates Half-Century of Excellence and Tech Innovation

    Afia Kobi Ampem Senior High School (SHS) at Trabuom in the Ashanti Region has marked a historic milestone—50 years of shaping disciplined, high-achieving young women. The golden jubilee celebration drew a powerful gathering of staff, students, alumni, traditional leaders, and influential dignitaries, including the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, who graced the event with a message of national pride and encouragement.

    Taking the podium, Dr. Amoakohene applauded the school’s leadership for steering Afia Kobi Ampem SHS into a modern centre of excellence. He described the students’ exploits in drone engineering, robotics, and tech-driven innovation as a clear sign that the school is preparing young women to compete in Ghana’s fast-growing digital economy.

    Representing the President, the minister reaffirmed government’s commitment to investing in the school’s infrastructure, teaching facilities, and learning resources,support he said will further strengthen the institution’s mission of grooming responsible, confident future leaders.

    Headmistress Mrs. Emelia Ameflu Denutsui expressed profound gratitude to teachers, students, alumni, parents, and Nananom for their consistent support over the years. She emphasized the school’s undying commitment to female empowerment through quality education and the development of practical, future-ready skills.

    Also present was the Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma, Hon. Kofi Amankwa Manu, who lauded the school’s achievements and pledged to champion initiatives aimed at advancing education and youth development within the constituency.

    The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Dr. William Kwame Amankra Appiah, delivered a stirring address celebrating the school’s transformative impact and urging continuous investment in STEM and digital skills to maintain global competitiveness.

    Traditional authorities from Trabuom and surrounding communities joined the celebration, reaffirming their support for the institution’s mission and applauding its contributions to the development of the area.

    A highlight of the jubilee was the recognition of the school’s alumni whose enduring contributions,ranging from mentorship and scholarships to infrastructure development,have played a crucial role in sustaining Afia Kobi Ampem SHS’s legacy of excellence.

    As the school reflects on half a century of academic brilliance, discipline, and service, its focus remains firmly fixed on the future,expanding innovation, improving student outcomes, and upholding the values that have defined its journey since inception.

     

    The golden jubilee celebration featured rich cultural displays, a showcase of student-led technological innovations, and inspiring speeches that charted a bold course for the school’s next fifty years.
