The Member of Parliament for Ralph Poku-Adusei, has reaffirmed his strong commitment to education by pledging continuous support for students across the constituency, especially brilliant but needy learners.

During a tour of the Abbot, Ofoase Kokoben and Anwiankwanta BECE centres, the MP encouraged candidates to remain hopeful and focused after successfully completing the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

Hon. Poku-Adusei praised the discipline, determination and confidence displayed by the students throughout the examination period, stressing that their hard work would surely produce positive results.

He assured candidates that his leadership remains committed to creating better educational opportunities through interventions such as the School Starter Pack Scholarship Scheme (SPSS), which continues to support students transitioning to Senior High School.

The MP further announced plans to expand the scholarship programme in 2026 to benefit more brilliant but financially challenged students within the Bekwai constituency.

A touching moment during the visit was the MP’s interaction with Master Kingsley Owusu Baffoe, a physically challenged candidate from Dominase M/A JHS who wrote the examination in a wheelchair. Moved by his resilience, Hon. Poku-Adusei pledged personal support for the student’s future education if he performs well in the exams.

According to the Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate, a total of 3,027 candidates sat for this year’s BECE, while only two pregnant candidates were recorded, a development officials described as a major improvement in school retention and guidance efforts.

Honourable Poku-Adusei concluded by assuring constituents that investing in education remains a top priority under his leadership, emphasizing that every child in Bekwai deserves the opportunity to succeed regardless of their background or physical condition.
