DCE PEDRO COMMENDS AMANSIE CENTRAL BECE CANDIDATES, ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGE FOR BEST PERFORMING STUDENTS

By Justice Baffour/ Managing Editor, Daily Watch GH/0246930931

The District Chief Executive for Amansie Central District, Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, popularly known as “Pedro,” has commended the District Directorate of Education, teachers, parents, security personnel, supervisors, and all stakeholders for their commitment towards ensuring a peaceful, credible, and successful conduct of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the district.

According to the DCE, the smooth organisation and successful completion of the examinations reflect the collective dedication and hard work of all educational stakeholders who continuously strive to improve academic standards within the district.

Speaking after the conclusion of the examinations, Hon. Pedro expressed satisfaction with the level of discipline, coordination, and seriousness exhibited by candidates and examination officials throughout the period.

He particularly applauded the District Director of Education and her team for their tireless efforts before, during, and after the examinations, stressing that their commitment has contributed significantly to maintaining peace and integrity within the district’s educational system.

The DCE further congratulated all the candidates for successfully completing this important stage of their academic journey and encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and hopeful as they await their results.

He advised the students to desist from negative behaviours and activities that could jeopardise their future ambitions and aspirations.

“Examinations are only milestones in life’s educational journey. Every candidate must see himself or herself as a future leader of this country and therefore uphold good morals, discipline, and responsible conduct that will positively impact future generations,” he stated.

Hon. Pedro also used the opportunity to urge parents and guardians to continue guiding and supporting their children during this transition period, adding that the future development of the district largely depends on the quality of education and moral upbringing given to the younger generation.

In a major announcement aimed at motivating academic excellence, the DCE disclosed that his administration has introduced an incentive package in the form of scholarship opportunities for outstanding BECE candidates in the district.

According to him, the scholarship initiative will support brilliant but needy students from the secondary level through to tertiary education as part of broader strategies to promote quality education and human resource development in the district.

He noted that investing in education remains one of the strongest pillars for community growth and national development, assuring residents that the Assembly will continue to prioritise educational advancement and youth empowerment.

The announcement has since been welcomed by many parents, teachers, and community members who described the initiative as a timely intervention that will inspire students to take their education seriously and strive for academic excellence.
