The quiet farming community of Abrense in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region has been thrown into a state of shock after the lifeless body of 28-year-old Yaw Asamoah was discovered in an abandoned mining pit—two days after a heated confrontation involving suspected commercial sex workers.

Police at Manso Nkwanta have confirmed the arrest of two suspects as investigations intensify.

According to eyewitness reports, Asamoah is said to have visited K.K Spot at Akukroso during a wake-keeping ceremony. The location is allegedly known as a hub for commercial sex workers.

After reportedly engaging the services of one of the women, Asamoah later realized that GH¢1,000 had gone missing. His attempt to recover the money sparked a fierce confrontation between him and the sex workers.

Residents suspect that the altercation may have contributed to his mysterious death.

Two days after the incident, community members made the grim discovery of Asamoah’s body dumped in an abandoned mining pit. The development has generated widespread concern and renewed calls for justice.

The Assembly Member for the Atobiase Electoral Area, Hon. Samuel Yeboah, popularly known as Godfather and elder brother of the deceased, is calling on authorities to fast-track investigations and ensure that those responsible face justice.

Police have confirmed the arrest of two suspects and say further investigations are underway to unravel the circumstances leading to the tragic death.

This is a developing story. Stay with Daily Watch GH for more updates.
