Chieftaincy Not Incompatible with Christianity -Wrempemhene Asserts:

Nana Anokye Bodiako, Wrempemhene of the Amoafo Traditional Council in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has stated that chieftaincy is not incompatible with Christianity.

Speaking at the installation ceremony of Nana Otuo Acheampong as the new Nponuahene, Nana Anokye Bodiako emphasized that chieftaincy is a divinely ordained institution that offers a platform for leadership and community development.

“Chieftaincy is an institution established by God. It provides opportunities for service, leadership, and the betterment of our people. Being a Christian should not be a barrier to taking up such a noble responsibility.”

He encouraged Christians not to shy away from accepting traditional leadership roles, urging them to view it as an avenue to influence their communities positively.

For his part, the newly installed Nponuahene, Nana Otuo Acheampong, expressed appreciation to the Amoafo Traditional Council for the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to work diligently to foster development within the community and also took the opportunity to advise the youth to stay away from social vices.

“I am grateful for this honour. I am committed to using this position to serve the community. I also urge our youth to focus on education and hard work, and avoid behaviours that could jeopardize their future.”
